As a member of NACHC's Grassroots Advocacy Team, Yuriko leads efforts to build the capacity of health center advocates and leverage their stories to advocate on behalf of health centers. Her experience as a Peace Corps volunteer and then as a Community Health Worker affirmed her passion to create equitable and culturally inclusive programs and services within public health, health care, and community-based social support services. Yuriko has a track record in addressing the social drivers of health, cross-sectoral community engagement and facilitation; training and technical assistance; continuous quality improvement; population health; and human-centered design. Yuriko completed her undergraduate degree in Public Health from West Chester University and the Master of Public Health from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill.
