Director, Value Based Care

Rita Lewis, MPH, CPHQ, is the Director of Value Based Care at the National Association of Community Health Centers. In this role, Rita oversees the development of NACHC’s national level initiatives focused on value-based care programs. She works to advance health center participation in care models that improve health outcomes, improve patient/staff experiences, while also reducing costs, and increasing equity. Prior to this role, she was Deputy Director of Clinical Quality Improvement at NACHC where she led implementation of best practices to initiate use of statins among high-risk patients and reduce elevated cholesterol levels. She also leads content development and execution of the national quarterly webinars for the Million Hearts® Self-Monitored Blood Pressure Control (SMBP) Forum. Rita has over 7 years of experience in the development of clinical quality measures and quality standards to improve health outcomes in primary care settings. Rita started her career as a health educator in community health centers and is committed to improving health outcomes by combatting health equity challenges for vulnerable populations. Rita earned a Master of Public Health Degree in Health Policy from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from the University of Michigan.
